The Things we do to Develop Craft and Career.

Interviewing Techniques for Memoir and Family History, One Hour Intensive.

Staring at a blank page is hard. Procrastination, fear and not knowing where or how to start can defeat you before you begin. Experienced writers from the team at Writers Victoria will give you tips and tricks to help you get started and keep going on any writing project. The workshop will tackle that voice that says ‘you can’t’. The presenters will explore ways to get started on all sorts of projects such as a memoir or family history, a crime, romance or speculative fiction novel, poetry, short stories and more.

  • Learn what needs to go into a first draft and what should be left out.
  • Learn how to take that first draft and rework and polish it for self-publishing or submission to agents and publishers.
  • Bring pen and paper to do some short, fun ‘get writing’ exercises as part of the workshop. Suitable for all ages.

Writers Victoria is the state’s peak body for writers. Established in 1989, they provide information, resources, support and skills development for their 3,400 members and the broader writing community.
