You’ve written, edited, rewritten and polished the manuscript. Now increase your chances of publication by understanding how the industry really works. Join two successful authors, Claire Saxby and Sue Whiting in conversation about the ways their various jobs (both writing and non-writing) have informed their writing and contributed to their publication successes.

Sue Whiting has been a teacher, a writer, editor and publishing manager. Sue has written numerous books in a variety of genres: fiction and nonfiction, picture books through to YA, and is published in Australia and internationally. Her latest book is Missing, a contemporary mystery novel for readers aged 10-14.

Claire Saxby has been a podiatrist, health educator, writer, reviewer and bookseller. Her latest books include ‘Koala’ (ill Julie Vivas. Shortlisted CBCA Awards 2018), ‘Bird to Bird’ (ill Wayne Harris) and ‘Dingo’ (ill Tannya Harricks). Claire also reviews books at, and works part-time as a bookseller.
