The Thrill of Death and Destruction

Crime fiction has overtaken romance as the top-selling genre – what is it that we want from crime, mysteries and thrillers? Is it excitement or justice? Why do authors write crime fiction – what are their darkest and funniest influences? We’ll discuss tension, plotting, villains and global chaos in this ‘thrilling’ session with Sarah Bailey and James Phelan. Sarah’s first novel The Dark Lake is a mind-stirring dark puzzle, while James Phelan, The Agency  takes readers on rollercoaster rides through war and destruction. A Rotunda in the West event with Sherryl Clark.
