Barbara Kamler
BARBARA KAMLER is a Melbourne-based poet and author of creative non-fiction, as well as eight academic book titles and numerous essays during her academic career. Leaving New Jersey is a memoir of loss and reconnection told in prose poetry. Love, regardless, a gallery of fourteen long-love portraits, crafted into syllabic verse. Her most recent book Sophie: stories (2024) creates a dynamic multi-voiced collage of prose vignettes, photographs and poetic reflections to tell the story of her grandmother, who crossed the Atlantic to flee oppression in Poland at age 14, and ventured to New York City on her own.
