Truganini – walking through the myth

‘A book of unquestionable national importance’ – Professor Henry Reynolds, University of Tasmania.

Have you ever wondered why an area of Hobsons Bay is devoted to the name Truganina?

Truganini’s story has made her an international icon for a monumental tragedy, yet how much about her life do you actually know? Cassandra Pybus’ biography of the life of the Nuenonne woman is as inspiring as it is haunting; an epic tale spanning seven decades and following her journey across Tasmania and then again here in Kulin country. Pybus’ book clears the fog of colonial amnesia and brings us all to consciousness.

Join founder and publisher of Wild Dingo Press, Cathi Lewis in conversation with Hobart based Pybus, herself a descendant of Bruny Island, to share Truganina’s story.

This session will sell out.
